Academic Director/Project Manager/ Lecturer for University Foundation Programme (2004 to present)Academic Director for University Foundation Programme in the field of delivering content subjects such as Physics, Engineering Mathematics, Business and Economics. The cohorts are all international. My role includes presentations of academic lectures in Materials Science and Physics and managing 5 academic staff members. Through this role, I also appoint and liaise with external examiner (Professor from Imperial College London) and am responsible for coordinating of the entire examination process. I project manage this programme and lead the orientation, content delivery, mid term performance analysis through academic assessments, anticipating student achievements in terms of their learning styles and do risk analysis for achievements and progression. On a regular basis, I interact with all cohorts, their parents/guardian, lecturers, education consultants and the senior academic board members (includes a doctor and a professor from the University of London). I also project managed the development of UFP website currently used to hold student information for marketing purposes. I interact with the supplier of the technical resources in maintaining this site. Training undertaken: September 2007 PRINC 2 Project Management. PRINCE 2 is a non-proprietorial best-practice guidance de-facto standard for project management. It is used extensively by the UK Government and widely recognised and used in the private sector through out the world. Consulting Lecturer in computing and Information Technology (2001 – Sept 2004) Computer science lecturer at further education college in the field of teaching software engineering subjects such as C++, Java programming, System Building with Unified Modeling Language (UML) to courses in Higher Education. I was a course tutor for HND 1 and HND 2 programme. Through this role, I liaised with external examiner from the University of Greenwich and was responsible for coordinating of the entire examination process. Presented a course on Materials Science and Engineering and supervised staff and students in the engineering workshop. Founded and presented a course on C++ programming; majority of the cohort consisted of the teachers from the faculty of computer science including the head of the department. I was responsible for the management of staff including recruitment, staff development and their appraisals. I managed projects through their entire lifecycle and successfully handed over to the support function of the company. I worked with senior manager to develop strategy in commencing new projects and collaborated with Product Managers in developing functional requirement and cost revenue justification (CRJ) documents for technical projects. I held the project team together and was the acting Project Manager where much of the project effort was managed and led the team on a day-to-day basis. Contract Manager Alfred Bagnall, KentAug 1986–Dec 1987: Contract manager and building surveyor for management of building restoration projects. Projects varied in size from £2000 to £100,000 over timescale of 3 weeks to 2 years. Role included surveying multi-storey buildings for defective concrete, researching proprietary materials for treating load bearing concrete structures. Researching, procuring and managing the application of advanced materials for non-stick/non-slip flooring in the medical laboratory in London. Technologist/Project Manager to Community building restoration project in SE 18 (Voluntary work) Project manger to the restoration of a community building (of 10000ft³), suffering form major structural deteriorations. Role included surveying multistory buildings for defective concrete, researching Carried out on site chemical tests in order to verify the quality of existing concrete. Trained and managed volunteers to use sand blasting techniques to clean reinforcement bars and apply, in-situ, polymer modified cement materials to restore concrete beam and column structures. This restoration work was commercially estimated at £100000 with additional work at £40 per square meter. Research Assistant Marley Research Laboratory 1984 – Aug 1985 Research Assistant for polymer modified materials. Produced test samples with different content of polymers and additives in the cement matrix and did flexural test to determine their physical properties.
